About Suicide & Self Harm

Print Page

Youth suicide is a complicated and complex issue. Sometimes the warning signs are missed so that an adolescent’s death by suicide feels like it has “come out of the blue.” Sometimes the signs are ignored, preferring to believe that the young person could not be thinking about ending his/her life.

AND with a suicide there are often many unanswered questions – particularly why did this happen and what could have been done to prevent it.

The Youth Suicide Prevention Program began out of a tragedy, but we are committed to preventing these unnecessary tragedies.

Learn more about the issues of youth suicide and intentional self harm.
